Firm Profile

John O’Brien began his career at one of the largest law firms in California, Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, where he represented Southern Pacific and Fiberboard Corp. trying personal injury and wrongful death cases. In 1996, he formed his own firm and has since specialized in providing personal and individual legal services to injured persons. He enjoys an excellent reputation for aggressive advocacy and integrity as well as an impressive record of significant jury verdicts, arbitration awards and settlements, including a million dollar settlement against a local government entity for inverse condemnation and a verdict in excess of $7,000,000 for a client who was rendered a quadriplegic.

Mr. O’Brien is among the very select group of lawyers to have received the highest rating ("AV") from the nation's preeminent rating service for law firms and lawyers, the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. The "AV" rating is accorded to only a small percentage of the nation's lawyers and law firms. The Martindale-Hubbell rating system provides an important and objective method to narrow the search for qualified legal representation. Legal Ability and General Recommendation Ratings have appeared in the Directory for over 100 years. This rating embraces faithful adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics of the legal profession, professional reliability and diligence.

The "AV" rating represents an independent, unbiased verification of Mr. O’Brien’s high standing in the California legal community.
